Carlsbad Brunch: Four Good Spots for a Slow Morning |
All-day breakfast in the Village, a full weekend menu, or brunch with a view—choose the kind of morning you want. |

A good Carlsbad brunch can mean all-day breakfast near the Village, a leisurely weekend table, or a meal with a view.
Here are four distinct options, with current menus and hours checked against restaurant information; this is a guide, not a claim that we’ve personally tried every plate.
For breakfast that doesn’t watch the clock
Café Topes serves breakfast all day, which is useful when your morning starts later than your appetite.
The family-run Carlsbad Village café is at 3091 Roosevelt Street and opens Tuesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The menu includes a Topes Scramble with bacon, cheddar and avocado, plus Crack and Eggs with tri-tip and three eggs.
House-made cinnamon rolls are baked each morning, and specialty coffees include lavender and Mexican mochas.
It’s the casual choice for a group that has not agreed whether the meal is breakfast or lunch.
For a broad menu
Beach Plum Kitchen serves breakfast, brunch and lunch at 6971 El Camino Real, Suite 201.
It’s open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with eggs and omelets, griddle and waffle-iron plates, lighter options and brunch-lunch dishes.
The menu lists migas, carnitas green chilaquiles and a smoked salmon scramble, alongside a separate children’s menu.
The restaurant also notes a 5 percent supplemental fee on transactions, so check its current menu before you go.
This is a useful pick when the table wants variety without splitting up the meal.
For a longer weekend window
The Henry at The Forum Carlsbad serves brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Its address is 1935 Calle Barcelona, Suite 170, and the restaurant is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
That later cutoff gives slow starters room to arrive after the early-bird rush and still order from the brunch menu.
For a weekend gathering, check the restaurant’s current menu and consider reserving ahead.
For brunch with a view
Canyons Restaurant at The Crossings pairs its weekend brunch with a setting above the golf course and views toward the coast.
Find it at 5800 The Crossings Drive; its brunch is listed on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday brings live music from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the restaurant’s calendar.
Canyons also advertises brunch cocktails and a bottomless-drink option; confirm current details and prices before making that the centerpiece of your plan.
For groups of 23 or more, the restaurant says reservations are required through its reservation desk.
